All Boy!

Steven is all boy. He loves trucks, trains, crashing into things, balls, dirt etc. It has been a fun contrast to my girls. However, I think he is definitely being affected by having two older sisters. The other day he was crashing trucks together had having a grand old time a few minutes later he came around the corner with a necklace on and a purse over his shoulder carrying a baby doll. He also loves shoes. Yesterday he put on Natalie's red Sunday shoes. It was so cute. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get a pictureof him all girlie. As soon as I start to laugh he gets embarrassed and takes it off. I try not to laugh but it is rare that he does it and so funny. I sure love my little man.

The First Week...

We are into the second week now of Scott being Bishop. It has been an interesting adjustment. I get a couple of calls a day about ward boundaries, meeting schedules, people needing my husband, etc. I have even had a couple of Stake Presidents call.

I think that I had unrealistic expectations of the blessings we would receive. I imagined that as soon as he was set apart Bishop our lives would be instantly better. Crazy I know. I knew that it was highly unlikely, but I hoped. This last week has actually been full of trials...most likely to humble me... At the beginning of last week we were sitting around with my in laws and mom noticed that the ceiling was swelling. We had a leaky valve in the kids bathroom. We poked a hole in the ceiling and drained the water. Scott fixed it the next day but we were left with some bulging in the ceiling that will probably get fixed when we decide to sell our house.

I have difficulty with my health but have been doing really well until the last week. I have had a period ever other week for a couple of months then it went to every 5 days. I have been cramping and don't feel good at all. On top of that I have been light headed, dizzy, and gaining weight like crazy regardless of what I do.

In all actuality it is coincidence that these things occurred the same week he was made Bishop. They were coming anyway. We were actually very blessed. We caught the leak before very much damage was done. I was able to get into the Doctor and they were able to find out what was going on (this is huge because it took 4 doctors and 3 years to figure out my POTS) I won't feel great for a few more days but I know what is wrong. Scott and I both had meetings Tuesday night and I really didn't want to take the kids with me. As we are getting ready to go a friend texts and says she wants to play with the girls. I only had to take Steven and he is super easy. Scott is usually grumpy when I am sick and he has been a real trooper and cleaned the house and cooked dinners even though he has been in meetings a total of 10 hours already this week.

I anticipated that life would become problem less and easy...silly me...Instead we are given trials to help us grow stronger and given blessings to make it so that we can deal with our trials.

Ramblings of a Bishop's wife.

Today my husband was made the Bishop of our ward. We have known this was coming for about a month. The last month has been a serious of highs and lows. There were days when I wondered if the Stake President realized that we had three small kids and that we already don't see my husband. Then there were days when I thought for sure that this was a really bad practical joke. I mean Scott is only 30. Other days I just cried. This morning I was really anxious. I felt like I was going to throw up. We made it to church on time (I have to get all three kids and myself ready by 8:45) and poor Scott looked ill sitting up on the stand. He looked ill right up to the time that they sustained him and then is was just emotion. It was a really neat change. I am trying to look at this as an adventure. We are so blessed. I know that the Lord will strengthen both of us so that we can do what we need to do to make this work. I am grateful that my husband is worthy, willing and able to serve. I am a very blessed woman.

Family Vacation

This year for family vacation we went to Washington and spent the first five days with Scott's aunts, uncles, cousins ect. It was really fun. I went to the Island for the annual Varbel (Scott's mom) girls weekend and left Scott at his cousins (AKA aunt Jessica) house with the kids for a couple of days.

At the Mariners game with Grandpa Dee, Great Uncle Richard, Uncle Aaron, Uncle Brett, Cousin Trevor and of course Daddy.

Aunt Jessica has a lot of animals and the kids were in pig heaven.

We went to the animal farm with Aunt Jess and her kids.

This is my cute new "niece" Aubree. She is the smiliest baby I have ever met!

The last five days we spent camping in Mount Rainer with my in-laws. It was a fun camp out. The weather was perfect, the kids played hard all day and slept hard all night and just had fun.

Happy Anniversary

Scott and I have been married for seven years. Crazy! I can't believe how quickly the time has gone by. We have been so blessed. Here are some highlights!
