Happy Birthday...

... a few weeks late.

Scott turned 32 on March 22. He wanted a day "off" for his birthday so Wednesday night we squeezed a birthday party in between my primary meeting and his Bishop appointments so that the kids would feel like they were part of his birthday. Then Thursday (his actually birthday) we got a sitter and went out for a nice dinner by ourselves and then we went to a couple of hardware stores and Walmart. Not exactly what I would have done for my birthday but Scott was in heaven. It was really nice to just be out the two of us and not have to worry about the kids and getting back home.

Happy Birthday!!! We love you!

My husbands favorite post!

Scotty is always giving me a bad time about blogging about him, but today I have permission:) We have been remodeling our yard for the last couple of years. Doing as much as we can before time and money run out. This year (hopefully) is the big year where we get to do sprinklers and grass!!! I haven't had grass for 4 years! But before we can get to that we have to build a shed so that we can get a bunch of stuff out of the garage. Scott loves to build things so he designed his own shed and we have been working on it. The weather here has been bi-polar so working on the shed has been interesting.

The kiddos love to help out! Even the neighbor kid:)

And this is why we need room in the garage!

Book of Mormon Heroes

This year as a primary presidency we decided that we wanted to make the Book of Mormon come alive for our kids so... I built a time machine and we bring a new hero each month. Our ward members have been great at helping us out and so far the kids love it.

Nephi

Ammon

Abinidi

They didn't even mind when the time machine fell on my head and Abinidi lost his skirt :)

9 Months

I can't believe my baby is 9 months old! She is such a sweet baby. She is just over 14 pounds and 27 inches long. She is crawling but not very effectively yet...she mostly goes backwards:) She sleeps through the night and loves giving cheesy grins. She is so much fun!

Random

The last couple of months have been completely crazy. December for Bishops is a total drag. I think Scott added it up and he spent about 40 hours doing tithing settlement and that is in addition to all the other appointments that he has and the YM/YW Super Saturday. So basically we didn't see him much. We also have two birthdays at the beginning of the month. We usually just do a little party for both of them but this year we decided to have a party for Natalie with some friends on Friday and then have a birthday party for Steven on Monday. We had a lot of fun.

Malaya started taking piano lessons in September and had her first recital. She was nervous but did a really great job. I also kept busy helping a friend with her daughters wedding. I didn't get any pictures but I made some bridesmaids dresses and the mother of the brides dress. They turned and nice and were a good learning experience. I also did the wedding cake and the grooms cake. It was super stressful and lots of fun at the same time.
And I couldn't resist posting pictures of these cute kiddos. They are so much fun.

Merry Christmas!

The Cornelsen Kids

6 Months and birthdays

I realize that this is a month late but better late then never right:) Emma was 13 lbs 3 oz(5th%) and 26 inches(25th%) long at her 6 month appointment. She is such a sweet baby and we love having her around. She had tubes put in on the 8th of this month and is doing so much better. She loves eating baby food and rolling around to get the things she wants. We moved her into her own room last week.

Steven and Natalie had their Birthdays on the 3rd and 4th of December. I can't believe how big they are getting. Steven moved into his big boy bed and moved into the basement. He has been the easiest child to transition. When its time for bed he just goes to bed. The only down side is that now that he is a big boy he gets upset if I call him anything with little in it. So little man and baby are totally out. :(

I can't believe that Natalie is 5. It seems like I was just bringing her home. She is a sweet girl who loves to help. She is starting to read and loves learning.
