Cove Fort

After the Cornelsen reunion we were headed to Zion National Park. I had mentioned to a friend that we were going and she suggested stopping at Cove Fort.  The fort was built by Ira Hinckley who is President Hinckley's Grandfather. I am so glad we decided to stop. The kids had a lot of fun.

The Fort
The kids got to see a snake eat a baby bird.

Scott liked the original door that was stuffed with cotton because sand made it too heavy

2013 Cornelsen Reunion

This year the Cornelsen Reunion was in Fairview which is about 30 minutes from Manti. It was fun to reconnect with cousins for both the adults and the kids.  The kids loved the Manti Pageant and we had a great conversation on the way home about the stories it told and the protesters outside the gates.

The next day was all about fun.  Aunt Shauna set up a slip and slide and the kids all loved it.

We had a blast at the reunion and are so grateful to Ray and Shauna for all their hard work.

When the Uncles are in Charge

My three youngest brothers came to do some yard work for us for a few days.  They were wonderful helps for the most part. They however, are still teenage boys and mischief is bound to follow them.  They had moved a bunch of dirt to level the patio area. The next job was to water the trees. I am not sure which one but one of them decided to make a lovely mud pit out of the area they had just filled.  It took about 30 seconds for the kids to jump in and get completely covered. I was weeding the garden and looked up to the uncles "helping" the kids. My favorite part was hosing everyone (including the uncles) off!

How we beat the heat!

Annual Dirt Delivery

For the past three summers we have had dirt delivered to landscape and every year the kids go crazy playing in it.  I think they are going to be very sad when we finally get grass and no longer need the dirt.

Kindergarten Graduation

Natalie finished up kindergarten in May and had a cute end of the year program.  It was fun to see how much she has grown in the last year.  She is such a sweet girl.

Mrs. Roghaar was such a great teacher!

Emma Turned 2

So back in May little miss Emma turned 2. She is such a sweet little girl. She loves climbing anything she can. She makes the cutest little facial expressions.  She likes to think that she is as big as her siblings and drives me crazy trying to be a big kid.
